EMR (Electronic Medical Record)

ONCOCHART’s use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) allows all pertinent information about a patient and their course of treatment to be collected in one place just as in a paper-based chart.

The EMR is organized in a tree-view. On each "limb" are the appropriate items of information related to that topic. These items can be ONCOCHART reports, outside reports, and scanned images.  Reports the User  scans and includes in their ONCOCHART EMR may be laboratory reports, pathology reports, radiology reports, Hospital Discharge Summaries and reports from other physicians.

Items of information from outside sources are imported into ONCOCHART via the use of a digital camera, scanner or by retrieving a file already saved to a disk. The user merely tells ONCOCHART which patient the image belongs to, the date of the image, and the Topic and item it represents. The image is then properly categorized and becomes part of the EMR.

“Just to let you know since implementing ONCOCHART at the ends of 2004, our Radiation Therapy center has been able to quickly and easily document procedures that previously had not been documented.  This added documentation has resulted in justifiable increased charge capture particularly in the area of Simulations and 3D simulation. BMSi has been provided excellent ongoing support for the ONCOCHART application.”
